Your default browser might be slowing you down. Opera One can help you live life as well as keep on top of coursework.

“At university, I tried to optimise everything. All of my notes and sources had a home, but ongoing research was much harder to categorise. Research is a breathing, processual thing. In the past, I would paste current links into my notes app, but I would often lose something important, and sometimes not come back to it at all. Capturing your current research stage isn’t usually a simple thing – but Opera One makes it simple.”
1. Mindful Start
In the morning, I make myself a cup of tea and open my personal browser. On Opera One, I have a personal Workspace, a study Workspace, and a Workspace for work (expertly separated so that I can organise the different parts of my life!). I keep my personal space fairly clear, and use it to check my emails and calendar without getting distracted by yesterday’s tasks.
2. Pick up where I left off.
I then switch to my study Workspace or Workspace for space, and all of the tabs are exactly where I left them. I like to order different aspects of a research task under Tab Islands to keep them organised and easily reachable, and I use the Split Screen feature so I can separate research from note-taking.
3. Prioritise daunting tasks.
Brian Tracy calls them “frogs” – the most daunting tasks of the day that you Absolutely Do Not Want to Do. I like to start with these tasks because, if I can get these done, I will go into the afternoon feeling accomplished and motivated (after all, and as Daniel H. Pink says, ‘success leads to motivation, leads to success, leads to more motivation’).
I like to use the built-in Ad-Blocker to remove distractions while researching so that I can get into a state of Flow. I also love that Opera One has an in-built VPN because it makes me feel safer while browsing (a VPN is a great way to increase cybersecurity).
4. Productivity Slump
My productivity dips in the afternoon. This is when I like to do less intensive tasks, including admin and responding to messages. I like to play some classical music through the Player on the sidebar, or put on an aesthetic study-scape from YouTube (I like how you can detach a video and hover it over your screen. It can be such a lovely source of motivation, especially when it’s a rainy library scape).
I also love that I can connect WhatsApp to Opera One, which means I can respond to messages easily on my desktop (if I can avoid picking up my phone, I absolutely will! I always prefer working on a laptop to a phone!).
5. Recharge
Towards the end of the day, when my energy resurfaces, I like to then switch back to my study/work space and continue with more brain-intensive tasks. I do this knowing that I can close this at any point and come back to it in the morning.
Opera One just feels so cohesive, and I love how it keeps everything easily in one place.
