What’s classed as a breakdown?
A breakdown includes things like a flat tyre, a flat battery, running out of fuel, losing your keys or experiencing a mechanical or electrical failure that means you can’t drive your car. It can also include if your car gets stuck in water, snow, mud or sand.
What kind of cover do I need?
We offer a choice of cover levels. Depending on which one you choose, your cover could include:
- 24/7 roadside assistance – if you break down more than a 1/4 of a mile from home, you’ll get expert roadside help or a tow to a local garage (included in all cover levels).
- Next-day collection – if the garage is closed, and we take you home, we’ll pick you up the next day (or whenever works for you) and take the car to the garage at no extra cost (included in all cover levels).
- Onward travel – we’ll arrange either a hire car, hotel or alternative transport if your vehicle can’t be fixed the same day (included with Recovery Plus and Euro Plus cover).
- Cover at home – we’ll come to the rescue at your home in the UK (included with Rescue Plus, Recovery Plus and Euro Plus cover).
